Who we are

Dr. Aliancy, founder of Clermont Eye Institute, is committed toproviding compassionate care, through ocular diagnostics, and exceptional medical and surgical management. Before starting his practice, Dr. Aliancy served as an associate at Premier Eye Clinic in Volusia County for several years. He is excited to provide comprehensive ophthalmology and advanced glaucoma care to residents of Lake County and surrounding areas. 

A Florida native, Dr. Aliancy grew up in Boynton Beach. He earned a Chemistry degree with honors from the University of South Florida. He then completed his medical degree at Florida State University College of Medicine, graduating among the top of his class, and being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. His compassion for patient care also led to his induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmic residency at Columbia University’s Harkness Eye Institute in New York City, where he served as the clinic chief resident. He then pursued a Glaucoma Fellowship at the renowned University of Michigan–Kellogg Eye Center.

Dr. Aliancy specializes in minimally invasive and advanced glaucoma surgeries, cataract surgery using premium and astigmatism-correcting lenses, and various anterior segment laser treatments. He is experienced in diagnosing and managing various glaucoma syndromes, including primary open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure disease, and uveitis-induced glaucoma. He uses advanced treatments such as selective laser trabeculoplasty, micropulse cyclophotocoagulation, intraocular angle-based procedures, and glaucoma drainage device implantation.

Dr. Aliancy has participated in research on intraocular lens biocompatibility research at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center, where he also completed an Ocular Pathology Fellowship. During his Glaucoma Fellowship, he received funding from the Glaucoma Foundation and Research to Prevent Blindness to collaborate on a community-based telemedicine glaucoma screening study. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Florida Glaucoma Society, and National Medical Association. His research has been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Acta Ophthalmologica, and the Journal of Glaucoma. Dr. Aliancy strives to combine the latest techniques with compassionate care for the best patient outcomes.

Outside of work, Dr. Aliancy enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, mentoring young ophthalmologists, and watching sports. He is also an avid NFL fan and a loyal supporter of the Baltimore Ravens.
